Optimising of Multicultural Teams
A joke with unknown source says the following about an optimized multicultural team:
Heaven is were police is British,
cooks are French,
mechanics are Germans,
lovers are Italians
and it’s all organized by the Swiss
To make sure that a group of different nationalities works together efficiently, various conditions and set ups are needed. The different strenghts of the individuals should be used.
The goal is to use Diversity as a chance and that way cause synergy effects. To take full advantage of those synergy effects, you have to pay a lot of attention into a beginning, e.g. while sharing out the tasks.
The opposite of the above Heaven is desribed here:
Hell is were cooks are British,
mechanics are French,
police is German,
lovers are Swiss
and it’s all organized by the Italians
Another danger is to convert the idea into “Managing Perversity” (as someone quoted to me) and ruin the whole basic idea. As a result, people accept everything different as long as it is just like themselves.
